Elevation of high sensitive troponin T after CMR stress testing
نویسندگان
چکیده
Introduction High sensitive troponin T (hsTnT) is a highly specific marker of myocardial injury and one of the keystones in the diagnosis of acute coronary syndrome. Although hsTnT is thought to be released by myocardial cell damage, recent studies reported elevated levels after exercise testing and endurance sports. The exact mechanism of this phenomenon is discussed controversially. CMR stress testing is widely used for detection of myocardial ischemia. The kinetic of troponin release after CMR stress testing has not been studied previously.

Predictive value of high-sensitive troponin t versus conventional biomarkers for 1-year left ventricular function and infarct size after STEMI
Background Data relating high-sensitive troponin T (hs-cTnT) to long-term myocardial function and damage in patients after STEMI are lacking. We evaluated the use of serial and peak concentrations of hs-cTnT versus creatine kinase (CK), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) and high sensitive C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) for prediction of myocardial function as well as infarct scar assessed by cardiac mag...
متن کاملSafety and diagnostic accuracy of stress cardiac magnetic resonance imaging vs exercise tolerance testing early after acute ST elevation myocardial infarction.
OBJECTIVE To determine the safety and diagnostic accuracy of adenosine-stress cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) perfusion imaging early after acute ST elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) compared with standard exercise tolerance testing (ETT). DESIGN AND SETTING Cross sectional observational study in a university teaching hospital. PATIENTS 35 patients admitted with first acute STEMI. ...
متن کاملHigh-sensitivity Troponin-T levels in reperfused STEMI patients: A comparison with CMR
Background In reperfused ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI), CMR late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) is the gold-standard for quantifying myocardial infarct (MI) size. Serum cardiac biomarker area-under-the-curve (AUC) is also used (CK-MB, Troponin T and I) and is more widely available than CMR. However, whether acute MI size measured by the 5 generation high-sensitivity Troponin ...
متن کاملEffect of Melatonin on Cardiac Injury after Primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention: a Randomized Controlled Trial
Several studies have reported that the antioxidant properties of melatonin can provide cardiac protection through scavenging of free radicals. This study sought to investigate the efficacy of melatonin on cardiac biomarkers, myocardial-specific protein high sensitive troponin-T (hs-TnT) and creatine kinase-MB (CK-MB), in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) undergoin...
متن کاملMultimarker approach for the prediction of microvascular obstruction after acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction: a prospective, observational study
BACKGROUND Presence of microvascular obstruction (MVO) derived from cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging is among the strongest outcome predictors after ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). We aimed to investigate the comparative predictive values of different biomarkers for the occurrence of MVO in a large cohort of reperfused STEMI patients. METHODS This study included 12...
